almost time to let go!

Hey Reader,

It's almost time to let go. Halloween is in a couple of weeks, the holiday rush starts after that. We'll be cruising into 2024 before you know it.

So I'm prepping now. I'm going to let myself ride through the end of this year, file it in the books, and recommit to 2024.

If you're interested in letting go now, so you can enjoy Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any of the major holidays you celebrate this time of year, go ahead and give yourself permission. The energy is different at the beginning of the year. So at this point, heading into the end, I think it's ok to let go.

I give myself permission.

Affirmation

I can trust myself.

From the Blog

If you're struggling to trust yourself, you can start building back the trust with small routine changes. When we show up for ourselves, we start to believe we can.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is an important part of loving ourselves. Here are some mindfulness practices you can incorporate into your self-love journey.

Journal Prompts

  • How am I putting pressure on myself?
  • How are other people putting pressure on me?

Movement Week

Did you know it's ok to pace your living space? I mean it.

I shamed myself so much for pacing around my dining table or back and forth between the kitchen and living room. But it's relaxing! Yoga is all about practicing intentional movement that brings you to a point of total stillness so that you can truly hear yourself.

When we're still, we're calm and collected. If there's an undertone of buzz because we're suppressing our natural desire to move, the calm never really feels relaxing.

This week, I invite you to let yourself pace. Let yourself take movements that you might be judged for. Give yourself permission. And tell yourself while you're doing it, it's good for you. Because it is.

Defensiveness is two people pointing weapons at each other, one must put theirs down first for anyone to start feeling safe. PERSPECTIVE SHIFTS Last week I shared a story on threads and talked about both my experience in couples counseling and sharing that story with other people. I had to admit that I was wrong in order to move forward in my relationship. My husband also had work to do, but that was his business and his choice. My work was to see where I was holding up a weapon and choose to...

The first step to turning an unhealthy relationship into a healthy one is taking care of yourself. PERSPECTIVE SHIFTS I recently shared a story on threads about my husband and I in couples counseling. In the story, I talked about how I thought I had our problem all figured out but I was wrong. Something I didn't expect from sharing that story, was how many people would commend me for admitting my fault and taking accountability. I realized what a strength it is to admit being wrong and how...

Expressing your thoughts and feelings will feel like a burden if you're overly concerned with how it makes someone else feel. PERSPECTIVE SHIFTS When you're made to feel like you're too hot to handle, you're more likely to withhold your true thoughts and feelings. People often use a tactic I call The Hot Potato Game to make someone else feel like they're "too much" to avoid rejection or to not deal with feelings. If you've been made to feel like you're being too serious or you can't take a...
